Step 5: Programming the TV Code (Allows the remote to control your TV)
The TV Code is a specific code for each brand and model of TV. When a TV Code is set, the remote control is able to address the specific signaling requirements for that TV.
- Turn TV on any channel.
- Press the LED key and hold it down until the LED flashes rapidly.
- Press the REC key. The LED stops blinking at this point and stays on solid.

- Press and release the up arrow until the TV turns off. When the TV turns off, press the Select key to store the code.
NOTE: If you press the UP arrow too rapidly, you may pass the TV Code before the time the TV turns off. If you are not sure you are storing the correct TV Code, press the down arrow slowly to cycle back through the codes that have been previously scanned.
If the code is valid, the LED will flash on and off three times and then remain off.
If an invalid code is entered or a 20 second lapse in button presses occurs, the LED will turn off and the remote control will return to normal operation. You will need to repeat the above procedure to program the TV code.
- You may now press the POWER button to turn the TV on.
>>> These procedures need to be followed for each remote you use with the Residential Gateway.
>>> Make sure your TV set stays on the channel listed on the back of the remote.
